The Importance of Multiple Book Deals
You are only considered successful if you earn out an advance and get to the royalty stage. In terms of multiple books, I don't know, I bought myself out of contracts before. Unless you're doing a kind of a series where it makes sense, I would probably advise against doing more than two. If you can, you want to do two rather than one because then that scene is a longer relationship.
