The Importance of Sketching Urban Sketching
When he first moved to New York, the artist was trying to figure out what sort of art he wanted to create in Kansas City. The city has incredible historic buildings and a really interesting building stock. And so when you're drawing on site, I was like, oh, wow, like, you know, the shadows changing the lights changing. What I see as important is exactly what my eyes sees. In New York it became this totally social activity where people are up and talking while you're painting.
