Modern monetary theory is having a m moment. It says countries that issue their own currencies can never, quote, run out of money the way people or businesses can. What was once an obscure, heterodox branch of economics has now become a major topic of deba amongst democrats and economists with astonishing speed. The intellectual branch of the modern left is like, we've figured it out, folks. We figured out a solution to our debt and economic problems. Don't worry.
