The Future of Employee-Owned Companies
ESOP is a kind of a retirement plan, just like a 401k. It deals specifically with holding the stock of the company for the employees. And then that stock is allocated over 20 years, actually. So 5% a year gets allocated to the active employees who are working. But, and so for a few years, the trust will still hold the majority of the stock.
