Inflation and the Yield Curve
Inflation hasn't peaked. It may well soon peak, and there's going to be a very long road ahead to get it back down the other side. As I look out to 2023, I do expect a steeper yield curve, in part because of deteriorating economic conditions. And so I think that investors need to be more in tune with what that means for banks and ultimately economic activity. The risk of significant blow up is underappreciated still.
