"It's simply confusing the aim of science as being about primarily prediction rather than explanation if you focus on explanations then you are exceedingly lucky in this world," he says. "For any scientific mystery it's a mystery by definition because we do not have an explanation of why it is the way it is now" He adds that for example, Newtonian gravity and Einstein's general relativity both predicted the same thing.
