The Importance of Inertia

Galileo: The universe is an indifferent machine. Matter resists my will. It's defined in terms of my resistance. Why do I want matter to be inert and resisting me? Look, it's actually a beneficial thing if the world is resisting me because what everybody is telling me is, oh, it's okay. And I'm deceiving myself.
