Thermidorians - A Political Weapon

The thermidorians were savy political operators, you might even call them unscrupulous. They could sense the right word shift in the political environment. The new thermodorian administration was more conservative than the jacobin regime but out of necessity and opportunism, not conviction. For the first time since 17 89, the french government was in the hands of open cynics, rather than idealists or at least demagogues who could convincingly fake it.
