Russian Air Force Continues to Underperform in the First Few Hours of the War
Russian air power continues to significantly underperform in the war, constrained by continued high threat from Ukrainian air defenses and dispersed basing. The Russian air force rarely venture forward of their own front lines, so it means that all the attacks that they're able to put together on the ground are extremely vulnerable from above. It's unlikely Russia is currently preparing for a dramatically expanded air campaign as under the current battlefield circumstances, it would likely suffer unsustainable aircraft losses.
