The Upper Confidence Bound Algorithm
There are a set of algorithms called regret minimization algorithms that can offer this guarantee or this bound of logarithmic regret. The upper confidence bound algorithm says just very simply ignore your actual expectation of what's probably going to happen. Ignore the worst case scenario. Focus exclusively on doing the thing that has the best best case scenario.
