The Different Types of Neurodevelopmental Disorders

If those brain regions are under active, it means that somebody will have impairment in their ability to motivate themselves or even their ability to concentrate. People with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and OCD and eating disorders and substance use disorders all usually also have impairment in the ability to concentrate and focus. So some of the symptoms of under active brain regions are kind of global across diagnostic categories. And then I can at least bring up the neurodevelopmental disorder that we talked about, autism, autism spectrum. That is either under active or in some cases, they think absent brain systems that help people respond to social cues.
