I think we need to tinue to raise awareness of what's happening on the ground. Unfortunately, the media has completely diminished in the country. Journalists are not brave enough to report or even teat share anything for fear oferof taliban er er repercussions. We also need to have a responsibility when it comes to monitoring human rightauses to hold the talivan to account. The more silent we are, the more confident they will become to continue their action. Sand finally, as a woman myself, we need to insure that we don't er allow the ban on girls education to continue. I mean, in what world is that acceptable? In the 20 first century?
One year ago the United States decided to withdraw from Afghanistan after two decades in the country. The Taliban, a militant Islamist group that ran most of Afghanistan in the late 1990s, swept to power without much resistance from the Afghan army and captured Kabul on August 15 2021.
