The 2019 Tory Manifesto and the Human Rights Act Reform
The Bill of Rights bill makes major changes to the Human Rights Act. As things stand, the UK would remain a party to the European Convention on Human Rights. The government is sort of stuck with the ECHR unless it actually leaves the Convention. We hear that Sir Anna Braverman, the Home Secretary, would favour leaving. But for now the government's policy seems to be that we'll stay in the European Convention.
