The Divergence of Bird Song
Some birds learn songs from adults. In 1958, a Cambridge researchers showed that chaffinches who were reared in isolation sing simpler songs than those who grew up in the wild. This is how accents change over time, just like how languages really fluid in humans as well. So this is a bit like the Boston accent in the US, which has a bit of Irish and British influence from the people that colonize that place. But then it developed independently from its origins. It's its own thing now.
