Theopnoustos: A Rule of Faith
Irenaeus never says Scripture is the only infallible rule of faith. In contrast, Irenaeus's rule of faith is found in sacred tradition and authority of apostles handed down through their successors. Clement of Alexandria used the word Theopnoustos to describe non-biblical saintly writings that are spiritually life giving.
