Vincent Van Gogh's Red Vineyard
The red vineyard hangs in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, along with five other canvases painted by Vincent Van Gogh. The scene depicts the annual Great Harvest in southern France known as the Vintage. There was something settling about the rhythm of the end gathering, humanity and land in harmony. One scholar wrote, these great harvesters were people Van Gogh felt he could relate to by the fact that they were working with nature in its rhythms and not against it.
