The Legality of Flight Attendants' Instructions

There's a lot of things going through my head right now. My speculation would be that when you buy a plane ticket and you've agreed to the conditions of carriage, there will be something in the paperwork that indicates you are required to obey pilot instructions. In terms of actual practice, my attitude to that light is keep your seatbelt done up unless you need to get up for something. Those people who leap from their seat when the plane stops and undo their belt and grab their overhead bags, annoy the hell out of me because they're going nowhere.
