Matt Welch: I've gotten some feedback recently from trusted friends who say that they think what I'm doing here is interesting, but that I'm not as legible as maybe I need to be for a general audience whose bad, good faith can't be assumed at every level. "Grill pill" was my attempt to express my instantaneous disenchantment with the Democratic election and its results. The Bernie Sanders campaign in its proximate goals was, yes, a failure, but I feel like it progressed the ball down the court.
