Is Plasma Exchange the Backbone of Therapy?

TTP is a condition of atom TS13 deficiency. If you're at a center where plasma exchange is not available, or you can't just take out this person's plasma and replace it with fresh plasma, even giving FFP transfusions is useful. And I've definitely used this when I was on consoles for sure. It really helps you triage like Ronik said. But that said, plasma exchange is the backbone of therapy. You want to use plasma exchange that is replacing the person's plasma with donor plasma as opposed to using plasma pharesis which is when we remove plasma and replaced it usually with albumin.
