Algebraic Effects in OCamel
OCaml is looking at doing very similar things in OCaml and we've actually hired someone where a big part of their goal is trying to get the work on algebraic effects. In many ways, let's you capture some of the same resource management that languages like Rust have. And I think this goes back to the basic fact that garbage collection is great for managing memory but not other kinds of resources.
