So i guess one response is that there will just be a diversity of cultures, as there were kind of the first time around. And you might think, though it doesn't have to be true, that there's advantages to being more technologically exploratory society. But even if not, by chance and variation, just like happened the first time, you'd think that some would be more exploratory than others.
