Is There a Risk of a CSE?
There was always a cautionary statement that if you did a CSE and then for some reason shortly thereafter, you had to do a crash C section. That there could be some danger in bolusing that epidural immediately after having given the intrathecal dose. Is that true? I would say in my experience, not necessarily for a number of reasons. In the theoretical, you've given just a small intrathecal low volume dose through a small 27 gauge hole. It really should not in general cause things like high spinal and stuff like that.
