Beyond the Frozen Horizon by Nicola Penfold
Nicola Penfold is the author of some books for young people, including Where the World Turns Wild. Her new book Beyond the Frozen Horizon has a slightly more hopeful outlook. A 13-year-old character travels with her mom to Svalbard on an archipelago halfway between Norway and the North Pole. One of the things that really stuck with her was some of the natural solutions to climate change she discovered in whale poo.
