The Role of Dolls in Horror
The term voodoo doll was invented by an American writer who made up a story about voodoo after hearing that it was witchcraft. Voodoo dolls are not actually related to voodoo. Another reason why dolls are often used in horror movies is honestly just because they kind of look creepy. Dolls serve as an important social tool and teach kids how to behave in a society through play acting. Their power in shaping children's minds is exactly why representation is such a hot topic when people talk about the doll industry.
