The comal blind salamander, like many other creatures in the edwards oquafer, is only found here. 13 other species here have been categorized as threatened or endangered. A lost mosquito fish that was last seen in 19 83 has been recently listed as extinct.

One of the world’s most biodiverse aquifers is full of strange, blind creatures that have evolved in isolation for millions of years. But one is missing.
