The culture of the newsroom itself has had such a dramatic shift. Not very long ago if you're doing a great job as reporter the public likes you but doesn't know your name and the people in power hate you that's kind of the way it's it used to be. The independent press are so strong these days power has completely shifted we don't need the corporate press in order to actually make a difference, says John Avlon.
