The story goes from abo that the people of paris have come out with their hammers and chisels and nails and everything and with wood instead of stone rebuilt a lot of what the Vikings destroyed the day before. It actually fits as a data point in a long running amount of historical evidence we have for at least pagan germanic women doing this. The Icelandic sagas of the viking era from later in this period actually say the same thing so this is another data point that suggests that the wives are there  in the old germanic tales by the roman's there were wagons that were behind the battlefield and the and the wives were there here.
