My father was born in Japan at the foot of Mount Fuji. His widower father decided he's going to start life anew in America with his two boys. They sailed for San Francisco and my father was raised in San Francisco. He spoke English as fluently as he did Japanese. So we were an American family and yet we were seen as the enemy.
