The Story of My Dad's Day in Lubongo

The Angolan Civil War is an event in history that took countless lives and isn't talked about nearly enough. I believe people need to be educated on this historical landmark. So my dad grew up in a small town called Lubongo in southwestern Angola. He was no stranger to the civil war raging in his country but he tried to avoid conversation about it as it just made him upset. The story takes place on the 29th of December 1983 when my dad was 22 years old. At this point in life he was working for a petrol company driving a petrol tanker around the town to various petrol stations. That moment was the day Lubongo fell.
