Did John Woods Take Part in the Normandy Landings?

John Woods almost certainly took part in the D-Day landings on Omaha Beach in 1944. He shouldn't have been able to join any branch of the armed services because he had a dishonorable discharge. Most sources seem to suggest that he did take part in the Normandy landings, which is some shit to deal with. The Department of Defense just like didn't look into it at all.
