Can an AI Be an Author?

Professor Kao Rastiella: It's possible to create a licensing model similar to the music world's transition from file sharing sites like Napster. Two of the attorneys who represent the artist suing AI, Joseph Savari and Michael Butterick, say they can imagine such a solution. The U.S. copyright and trademark office won't register a work created solely by AI, but it will register works created with assistance from AI.
