Freud's the Ego
Freud: The manipulator of consciousness up here in the upper room is called ego and in German das I. In Freud's view these wishes which have been blocked are known as 'the super ego' He says you can't fool around with the light and find out what's wrong with it. You've got to send a man down there the psychoanalyst, he has techniques for getting there.
