I see a parallel there with independent music and one of our critiques of independent music in a sense is that in a sense, like one of the naive ideals was overemphasizing the whole independent part. I think the Peter Day over time thing is kind of where it's at because my feeling is that if you're involved in some kind of creative movement, it generally has like a lifespan of seven years. And sci-fi writers tend to really romanticize certain things like rocket ships, robots, and atomic power that then show up in the world and become boring and or dangerous.
