The Athenians' Proposal to Make Peace With Tisiphaernes
Sparta considered the third treaty with Tisiphaernes to have been rendered invalid by his failure to maintain and pay their forces. The chief Spartan ambassador here was envious, man close to Alcibiades. When it was his turn to speak, according to Diadorus, he set forth Sparta's proposal as this: This is a very important place to make peace with you men of Athens.
