Khalil: Teaching hard history is a landmine and so many ways it can go wrong. We need to confront our hard histories as well as like our soft ones that don't make us feel bad, he says. Khalil: Until we get that history right, then we're going to keep reproducing one generation to the next people who have false ideas about how we arrived at the country and where we have to take it.
