The Impossibility of Happiness

The Book of Job is a work that I came to significantly during a dark time in my life. The lessons of the story are best appreciated when times aren't tough, when the going is good. When one is in the belly of the whale, however, the wisdom of the Book of Job may just feel like a further plunging into the darkness. We have these faulty underlying assumptions that do not serve, especially when life doesn't go the way we'd hoped.
