The Importance of Property Taxes in the City

There's actually a lot of stuff. Number one is probably property taxes which nobody likes to talk about but we do frankly I think to get any funding from any other level of government we do need to raise property taxes. You know tenants and notably people who occupy multi-unit buildings already pay a higher property tax rate than people in single family homes. Another way is zoning reform and flexibility so we're having a housing crisis. Part of the housing crisis is because it's very difficult to build in the city. It's far more difficult than many say we should be. People can check that out at TVO.org.
