Is Your Blackmagic a Thunderbolt 3 Cable?
You need Thunderbolt 3 cables, which are USB-C cables that have some additional capabilities. They do not have all of the power or chips in the cable that's required to do everything a Thunderbolt 3 needs. It was just incredibly frustrating and it just I set it before, but I cannot believe that these wires are not labeled to specify what the wire can do.
