The Importance of Voting in America
I have a hard time understanding how we're truly different these days. I'm not going to denigrate the fact that we do have a bill of rights. Sometimes it's honored in the breach more than the observance. We do have protections that an independent or relatively independent court recognizes. Now, that said, these are legacies of the past. These are being eroded over time by the fact that what we have is a kind of oligarchic government.
