"It was sort of like a musical in that way. Like we really did it differently than on any movie I've worked on where we sort of reverse engineered the score from the songs," she said. "We just wanted everything to be, you know, to be funny, but never move into something that felt like pastiche or that we're not taking it seriously." She added: "I would say the Lady Bird and Little Women are essentially movies in which you kind of are caught off guard by the humor"
