Ichiko's Rematch With the US Navy

Ichiko beat the US Navy 22-6 in a rematch on June 27, 1896. The American sailors were reportedly astonished by the Japanese turn out. Ichiko agreed with the stipulation of this time they would play at their home field. Nearly 10,000 people turned up to watch the game with absolutely zero room left in the stadium. Representatives from the Meiji government and the American Legation attended as well.
