And i was watching a p b s documentary, which was produced and then made available on line pretty recently called einstein's quatum riddle. It traced the debates between einstein and nielsbor related to the implications of quanta mechanics. Towards the end of this trace out on a blackboard the possibility of a holographic universe,. This is the physicist who first proposed it but hawkings was one who actually proved it.
