The Iron Age and the Greeks in Italy
There is a striking overlap between points of contact in the Mycenaean period and Bronze Age centuries before the Iron Age. So we don't know how, but it might be that there was some kind of memory preserved of these connections. We should assume for a start that these regions were not completely new when the Greeks started seafaring or increased seafaring.
