Abbott first said he stopped at a campaign event on May 24th just to say he couldn't stay long. Now records show he spent nearly three hours at the event. At what point does Beto versus Abbott look like an actual competition? When does that happen and how? I think it began in part when the grid failed because that gave the Democrats a really bold example to point to to say that the Republicans have been in charge for too long and they're not doing a good job.
