The Limits of R&B

In order to be part of a community, there has to be some way of defining it. In the world of R&B, that's a less like gatekeeper oriented world. If your record goes number one on the R&B chart, like you're an R&B star. But if you're not making hits and your music's like not resonating, like maybe you're not so important to the R&b tradition.
