C++ - Is There a Successor Language?
C++ gets a lot of flack, but I think we can still evolve it in any direction we want. If we wanted to put val style value semantics in it, I think we could do that. We could evolve it in really almost any direction and still retain core compatibility with all the code out there. Why do you think so few people see the potential for evolving C ++? Well they don't want to have to do 20 years of proposal revisions. For some of these features, they would take forever to get through the committee. It's easier for one person or a small teacher.
