Timothy Stanley went to Uniontown, a town hit hard by the collapse of steel industry. He asked locals if it was labor shortage or job shortage; they told him welfare queens were causing problems. A 60-year-old man who had lost his son said he can't sit at a desk for more than half an hour without being in excruciating pain. "It's not from a lack of status. It's from a lacked of purpose," Stanley says.
