Gerard says as society, we just continue to find new ways to do thistai. When when we see somebody punished, it gives the illusion that something has been done about the problem. It provides a sense of catharsis for for the group, is like, ah o kthee there's the cause of the problem. And that field which feels good, and it just delays and it actually makes all these problems worse.
