The Higgs Boson Is Another Field That Is All Around This
The Higgs field is another field that is all around this, but it doesn't make up matter. It's like we're all sharing one huge blanket instead of having our own little blankets. So particles can have energy stored inside of them because they interact with the Higgs field. Like the electron is truly at its core, a massless particle, but it interacts with theHiggs field. And that gives it this internal stored energy, which gives it inertia and that's what we call mass.
