The Economics of Rationality and Self Interest Maximization

Sen argues welfare economics is grounded in aversion of utilitarianism. He says economists only feel on solid ground, normatively, when advocating for parado efficiency. Sen also suggests there are at least two separate things that we should care about: getting people what they actually want and getting them more perfectly aligned with their interests.
